Warning!! The camera design has not yet been officially confirmed, so the images of the DJI Action 6 camera may differ. These are illustrative images only.
Today, an action camera is no longer just a simple “sports” gadget – it is a serious tool for content creators, vloggers and professionals. Brands like GoPro or Insta360 already offer 8K recording, stabilization, waterproofing, various accessories. DJI has built a position in this area with the Osmo Action series, while models like the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro have already targeted more demanding users (e.g. with a 1/1.3″ sensor).
Leaked information suggests that DJI is planning a major leap forward – a larger sensor, variable aperture, 8K recording capability, and other features that could set this model apart from the competition. If confirmed, it would mark a shift from a regular action camera to a camera tool for high-end creatives. These trends are suitable for the /dji section as well as for fans of outdoor/adventure activities.
According to leaked reports, a number of interesting technical data are reported:
According to multiple sources, the DJI Osmo Action 6 is scheduled to be unveiled on November 18th or 19th, 2025. A few days ago, DJI posted a video on its Instagram that could resemble the DJI Action 6 action camera, and the release date is set for November 18th at 12:00 noon our time.
The price in leaks suggests €400-479 as the starting price. From the perspective of the Slovak market, it is worth noting that real prices tend to be higher due to VAT, import and distribution.
If you own an older model (e.g. Action 4 ) and often shoot in difficult lighting conditions, or use 4K high-fps modes, then an upgrade may be justified. The new camera may also have interesting user additions such as built-in memory, new modes and also some help with AI. The Action 6 camera will have a better image, you will definitely move your level up in water sports or seaside holidays.
According to leaked information, the date is November 18 or 19, 2025.
Leaks talk about support for 8K/30 fps, 5.3K/60 fps, 4K/120 fps and 1080p/240 fps
The variable aperture (f/2.0–f/4.0) will allow for more aggressive control of light and depth of field – something that has been very rare in action cameras to date.
