The most notable new feature of the 8P is the detachable Osmo FrameTap remote controller. This compact display shows the image from your phone or DJI OM Multifunctional Module 2 in real time - you always have a perfect overview of the composition of the shot, whether you're shooting a selfie with the rear camera, a shot from above, or from a greater distance.
But the controller is not just a passive display. The remote display automatically recognizes objects in the frame and marks them with detection frames. A single touch on the frame starts instant tracking of the object – and you can easily switch between objects with another touch without touching the phone. The control is intuitive and extremely fast.
The Osmo FrameTap also allows you to control the Multifunctional Module 2 light – with 8 brightness levels and 8 color temperature presets directly from the remote control. The thumb joystick allows you to control the gimbal movement, zoom and light without interrupting recording. The FrameTap attaches magnetically to the handle or can be used separately – for maximum flexibility when shooting from different angles.
ActiveTrack 8.0 is the latest generation of DJI’s object tracking algorithm, available exclusively in the DJI Mimo app. This technology takes automatic tracking to a level never before experienced in a mobile gimbal. Osmo Mobile 8P is one of the few gimbals on the market that supports the Apple DockKit. Simply place a compatible iPhone on the gimbal’s NFC area and pair it via Bluetooth – and you’ll immediately start tracking directly through native iOS features without the need to open any third-party app. Tracking via the Apple DockKit is seamless and instantly available whenever inspiration strikes.
Dual Lens Boost combines a wide-angle and telephoto lens to simultaneously track fast-moving subjects over a wider field of view. When an object falls out of frame, the DJI Mimo app automatically brings it back in. This feature is ideal for any action footage where movement is unpredictable and fast. The Osmo Mobile 8P is fully compatible with the DJI OM Multifunctional Module 2, which expands the gimbal’s tracking capabilities to entirely new categories of objects. The Module 2, with integrated artificial intelligence, tracks not only people, but also animals, vehicles, and everyday objects.
Thanks to AI directly in the module, the dependence on the phone's processor power is reduced, ensuring smooth viewing even on older devices. Module 2 also includes an additional LED light with 8 brightness levels and adjustable color temperature of 2500-6500 K.

The integrated extension pole with a maximum extension of 215 mm widens the field of view and allows you to capture more. When vlogging, it opens up the possibility of more dynamic shots from different angles and distances without having to buy a separate extension pole.
The integrated tripod is built directly into the handle. The new design with a 97 mm radius of deployment ensures greater stability on a variety of surfaces.

ActiveTrack 8.0 is only available in the DJI Mimo app. DJI OM Multifunctional Module 2 is not included in the Standard Combo and is sold separately. Dual Lens Boost requires an iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max or later Pro model. Gesture control requires a distance of 0.5–4 m from the camera, facing the camera, and holding the gesture for 1–2 seconds. The integrated tripod is designed for stable, flat surfaces in calm weather.
Osmo Mobile 8P is compatible with most smartphones available on the market. It is recommended to use smartphones with a width of 67-84 mm, a thickness of 6.9-11 mm, and a weight of 170-300 g.

The Osmo Mobile 8P supports DockKit, allowing iOS users to take advantage of this feature without the need for additional apps or accessories. This enables intelligent object tracking in the native iPhone camera app and in third-party iOS apps that support DockKit, such as Facebook, YouTube, and Blackmagic Camera.
