Description

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 – Compact camera with 1″ CMOS sensor and 3-axis gimbal

Imagine a device that fits in your jacket pocket, but shoots with the quality you’d expect from professional filmmaking gear. That’s exactly what the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is – a compact camera with a 1-inch CMOS sensor, a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, and a host of smart features that will turn any amateur into a professional-level content creator. Whether you’re filming family celebrations, travel adventures, YouTube vlogs, or live streaming on social media, the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is your ideal companion. The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 takes a revolutionary step forward from the previous generation. With a maximum video resolution of 4K at 240 frames per second [1], a dynamic range of 14 EV [2], and a 10-bit D-Log color profile, it’s the most powerful pocket camera with gimbal on the market. With 107GB of onboard storage [5], transfer speeds of up to 800MB/s, and up to 3 hours of battery life, it's a device that will exceed your expectations. [16]

Exceptional image sensor – 1″ CMOS and f/2.0 aperture

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 features a new 1-inch CMOS sensor paired with an optical system with an f/2.0 aperture. This combination offers several key advantages over smaller sensors:

  • Natural background blur (bokeh effect): The large 1-inch sensor, combined with an f/2.0 aperture, creates a softly blurred background that expertly separates your subject from the background. Portraits, product shots, and people shots look cinematic and professional—without the need for artificial sharpening in post-production.
  • 14 EV Dynamic Range: A 14 EV dynamic range is one of the key technical strengths of the Osmo Pocket 4. The camera captures details in both dark shadows and bright highlights at the same time – whether you’re shooting on a beach with the sun backlit, or at dusk in a city. The result is an image full of detail, natural colors, and professional contrast. The 14 EV dynamic range applies to both Normal and D-Log color profiles. [2]
  • 10-bit D-Log Color Profile: For those who want full control over the final look of their videos, Osmo Pocket 4 offers recording in 10-bit D-Log color profile. This profile captures a huge amount of color information, allowing for extensive color corrections in post-production (in programs like DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro) without losing image quality. 10-bit D-Log is available in standard Video mode. [3]
  • 4K/240fps Ultra HD Slow Motion: 4K recording at 240 frames per second (supported in Slow Motion mode) allows for up to 10x slow motion when playing back at 24fps, while maintaining sharp and smooth footage even in extreme slow motion. [1]

ActiveTrack 7.0 – Intelligent Subject Tracking [6]

DJI ActiveTrack is one of the most popular features on handheld cameras, and the Osmo Pocket 4 introduces the latest version, ActiveTrack 7.0. This technology uses advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to track your chosen subject – a person, animal, object or vehicle.

ActiveTrack 7.0 on Osmo Pocket 4 brings:

  • Subject tracking even at 4x zoom – even distant objects stay in the frame.
  • Spotlight Follow Mode – The camera keeps your subject in the frame while you move freely.
  • Dynamic Framing Mode – The camera automatically adjusts the composition of the shot for the most dramatic result.
  • Easy one-handed operation – ActiveTrack 7.0 is designed for intuitive use without the need for an assistant behind the camera.

Note: ActiveTrack is not supported in Panorama, Timelapse, Motionlapse, and SpinShot modes, even when the gimbal is in FPV mode and the device is held horizontally.

3-axis mechanical stabilization – Professional smooth footage

Three-axis mechanical stabilization eliminates unwanted camera movement while walking, running, cycling, or skiing, resulting in smooth, cinematic footage without any judder or vibration.

Different gimbal modes allow for even greater creative freedom:

  • Standard Tracking Mode – The gimbal compensates for camera movements and keeps the horizon level.
  • SpinShot – The gimbal rotates 180°, allowing for smooth, dramatic one-handed shot rotations – perfect for dynamic vlog sequences.
  • FPV Mode – The camera copies your hand movements for an authentic first-person view.

The 2-inch, 1,000-nit, rotatable OLED touchscreen display is another great feature of the Osmo Pocket 4. You can rotate the display towards you for easy selfies or vlogging. The 1,000-nit brightness ensures excellent visibility even in direct sunlight.

Intelligent Autofocus – Subject Lock Tracking and Registered Subject Priority

Osmo Pocket 4 features an advanced autofocus system that utilizes two innovative features:

Subject Lock Tracking: When activated, this feature automatically focuses on a selected subject and tracks it throughout the recording. To change focus to a different subject, simply tap the detection frame on the touchscreen. This feature is ideal for dynamic shooting where subjects move within the frame.

Registered Subject Priority: Pre-set your preferred subject and the camera will automatically prioritize focusing on it. Both features are supported in Video, Photo Pro, and Hyperlapse modes. [8]

Gesture Control – Shoot without touching

Want to take a selfie without a tripod and without reaching for the shutter button? Or stop recording from a distance without interrupting the scene? The gesture control function [9] gives you full control even from a distance:

  • Palm gesture: Raise your palm to activate or deactivate the ActiveTrack feature.
  • "V" gesture: Show the V sign (like a selfie) to start or stop recording or take a photo.

The effective range of gesture control is 0.5 to 5 m at 1x zoom and 1 to 7 m at 2x zoom – plenty of room for creative shooting without an assistant.

Lossless 2x Zoom – Get closer without losing quality

Osmo Pocket 4 features 2x lossless zoom [4], allowing you to zoom in on distant subjects without any loss of image quality. Unlike digital zoom, which simply enlarges the image and reduces its sharpness, lossless zoom uses the sensor’s native resolution to maintain maximum sharpness even when zoomed in.

The Zoom button allows you to seamlessly switch between 1× and 2× zoom – a single press toggles between these values, a double press activates 4× zoom (with a slight reduction in quality).

Note: Lossless 2x zoom is not available in Low-Light, Slow Motion, and Timelapse modes.

OsmoAudio – 4-channel audio output for professional sound [7]

DJI Osmo Pocket 4 features OsmoAudio, which supports 4-channel audio output. The camera can connect directly to DJI Mic transmitters (sold separately), capturing clear voice from the DJI Mic while simultaneously recording ambient sounds through the camera's built-in microphones.

Other audio features:

  • Surround Sound: Surround sound recording delivers a truly immersive experience on headphones.
  • Audio Zoom: The sound is automatically adjusted according to the zoom level - the higher the zoom, the more the sound from the zoomed-in direction is amplified, which significantly improves the naturalness of the playback.

Creative Filmmaking Features – Create without Limits

  • Slow Shutter Video: In Video mode, Osmo Pocket 4 supports long exposure shooting. Manually adjust the shutter speed to achieve a motion blur effect – perfect for nighttime streets, waterfalls, or car light trails.
  • Motionlapse: Set up to four positions to create dynamic time-lapse videos. Osmo Pocket 4 moves the gimbal between the positions you set, creating smooth camera movement—perfect for sunsets, moving clouds, or busy city streets.
  • Auto Landscape/Portrait: The camera automatically recognizes the orientation of the display (landscape or portrait) and adjusts the composition of the shot. This feature is extremely practical when creating content for different platforms - horizontal format for YouTube, vertical for Instagram Reels or TikTok.
  • Panorama Photo: Switch to panorama mode to capture expansive, high-resolution scenery.

Professional-level portraits – Film Tone, Beautify and Glamour Effects

  • Film Tone: Choose from a variety of color presets (Film Tones) that give your footage a classic, film-like look with professional-grade color. No post-production required. [10]
  • In-Camera Beautify: In-camera Beautify fine-tunes skin tone, brightness, and color to make selfies and group shots look natural and attractive. This feature is available in Video mode. [10]
  • Glamour Effects App: For advanced editing, use the Glamour Effects feature in the DJI Mimo app [12]. After exporting footage from Osmo Pocket 4 to the app, you can apply various beautifying effects (available in Video and Low-Light modes). [11]
  • Fill Light: Osmo Pocket 4 features an integrated fill light with three brightness levels and adjustable color temperature (also sold separately). This light provides soft, natural lighting with a beautifying effect—ideal for low-light or backlit shooting. [13]

Automatic axis locking – Safe carrying

The gimbal automatically locks when the camera is turned off, protecting the mechanism from damage during transport. There is also a manual lock for faster and safer carrying in a bag or backpack.

Timecode – Multi-camera synchronization

For professional multi-camera shooting, Osmo Pocket 4 features an integrated timecode system with less than 1 frame per 8 hours [18]. This accuracy allows for fast and seamless synchronization of multiple cameras in post-production.

DP output and live streaming via Wi-Fi

Osmo Pocket 4 supports 4K DisplayPort video output for connecting to an external monitor or recorder. For live streaming to platforms like YouTube, Facebook Live, you can use Wi-Fi live streaming in 1080p [17]. It also supports streaming to a computer via UVC or DP video output (capture card required).

Integrated storage and fast data transfer

Forget about memory cards. Osmo Pocket 4 has 107GB of onboard storage, enough for hours of filming, even in high definition. You can transfer data wirelessly via Wi-Fi 6 (up to 90MB/s) or via USB 3.1 with speeds up to 800MB/s – one of the fastest transfer speeds in this category.

FAQ

What is the DJI Osmo Pocket 4?

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is a pocket-sized gimbal camera released in 2026 with a 1-inch CMOS sensor, 3-axis mechanical gimbal, and 4K video at up to 240 fps. It has 107 GB of built-in storage, a 2-inch rotating OLED display, and a 3-hour battery life.

.

Is the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 waterproof?

No.

Is the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 suitable for beginners?

Yes. The touchscreen, gesture controls, and automatic modes work without any prior experience. For those who want to go deeper, there are manual settings, 10-bit D-Log, and timecode — but it's not a requirement.

How long does the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 battery last?

It lasts up to 3 hours when recording in 1080p/24fps. The battery life is shorter when recording in 4K. Fast charging recharges the battery to 80% in 18 minutes.

Does the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 need a memory card?

No. The built-in 107 GB is enough for 240 minutes of recording at 1080p/24fps. For comparison — a typical half-day of shooting is usually 2 to 3 hours. But if you need to increase the capacity, you can use the microSD slot.

What is the difference between the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and Pocket 4?

The Pocket 4 has a 1-inch sensor — the area is 2.7x larger than in the Pocket 3. Dynamic range has increased from 11 to 14 stops. Slow motion has improved from 4K/120fps to 4K/240fps. ActiveTrack is in version 7.0 and 107 GB of built-in memory has been added, so a microSD card is not needed, but it is possible to use microSD.

What is the new Object Management feature in Osmo Pocket 4 for?

On the Object Management page, you can register and manage up to three objects, which can be the same person if necessary. After registration is complete, you can enable the “Registered Objects Only” gesture control option. When the “Registered Object Priority” focus mode is enabled, Osmo Pocket 4 prioritizes focusing on the registered object. When the “Spotlight Tracking” tracking mode is enabled, Osmo Pocket 4 quickly tracks the registered object.

Can I live stream with the DJI Osmo Pocket 4?

Yes. The camera supports 1080p Wi-Fi livestreaming directly to YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram without a computer or external encoder.

Does the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 work in low light?

Significantly better than most cameras in this class. The 1-inch sensor with an f/2.0 aperture captures images indoors in artificial lighting without visible grain. It's not a replacement for a camera with a larger sensor in extremely low light, but it works reliably for common indoor scenes.

Notes:
1. 4K 240fps video recording is only supported in Slow Motion mode.
2. For both Normal and D-Log color profiles, the maximum dynamic range is 14 EV. In Slow Motion mode, the actual dynamic range may be less than 14 EV.

6. ActiveTrack is not supported in Panorama, Timelapse, Motionlapse, and SpinShot modes, or when the gimbal is in FPV mode and the device is held horizontally. For optimal tracking performance, we recommend using the device in a well-lit environment. ActiveTrack updates are available in the DJI Mimo app. For more information, please contact the DJI Customer Support team.
7. For four-channel output, a DJI Mic Transmitter must be connected. Direct connection to the first-generation DJI Mic is not supported. DJI microphones are sold separately.
8. Subject Lock Tracking and Registered Subject Priority are supported in Video and Photo Pro modes, as well as Hyperlapse mode. They are not available in Panorama, Timelapse, or Motionlapse modes.
