DJI RS 3 Pro
New Professional stabilizer for cameras and SLRs
Professional carbon design
The RS 3 Pro features extended carbon fiber axle arms, giving more room for balance for pro cameras, making it a perfect fit for cameras like the Sony FX6 or Canon C70 with 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses, expanding the creative options.
The new extended lower quick-release plate (Extended Lower Quick-Release Plate) ensures a more stable fixation of the camera and is suitable for installing a lens support for a more secure attachment of a set with a longer lens. The balancing process is now much easier and more precise. Thanks to the added button, you can move the axes by millimeters, thus achieving the best possible balance of the camera. This way, you can balance the camera better and faster, and the DJI RS 3 Pro can therefore better balance even heavier cameras.
New Automatic arm locking
The RS 3 Pro lets you start shooting quickly so you never miss a shot. Simply press and hold the power button and all three axes will automatically unlock and unfold, allowing you to start filming in seconds. Press the power button once and the axes will automatically lock and go to sleep mode, making the transmission of the gimbal with the camera much more efficient. Press and hold the power button and the RS 3 Pro will automatically fold and lock.
High capacity payload
The construction of the RS 3 Pro is specially lightened and designed so that its weight remained only 1.5 kg. Despite its low weight, it still offers a payload of up to 4.5 kg. Thanks to this combination, handling is easier.
Wireless shutter control
Thanks to the Dual-Mode Bluetooth technology, the RS 3 Pro is able to achieve efficient and reliable wireless shutter control. [2] After initial pairing via Bluetooth, you can control video recording and photo taking by simply pressing the record button on the stabilizer. A previously paired camera will automatically reconnect every time you use it, saving you time.
Instant mode switching
By simply sliding the new Gimbal Mode switch, you can switch between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow and FPV modes. In FPV mode, it is also possible to choose between 3D Roll 360, Portrait or Custom, allowing you to prepare your equipment and start filming quickly.
The bigger the better
The large, built-in 1.8-inch full-color OLED touch screen increases the screen size by 28% compared to the RS 2, making it incredibly convenient to set parameters, check the shooting status, and focus on the tracked objects. [3] Thanks to the redesigned user interface, each setting is more intuitive and accurate. The OLED display also offers higher brightness than the RS 2's LCD screen, has lower power consumption and is better for outdoor use.
Professional stabilization
Elegant carbon fiber construction
The arms of the RS 3 Pro are constructed from laminated sheets of uncut carbon fiber, just like the Ronin 2. This makes them lighter and stronger than the bonded carbon fiber material used in the RS 2, increasing strength and reducing weight so it can withstand even more demanding environments filming.
Further development of RS stabilization
Thanks to the third generation of RS stabilization algorithms, RS 3 Pro provides significantly higher stability in any situation. Data from lab samples shows that the RS 3 Pro provides a 20% increase in stability over the RS 2, effortlessly handling low-angle shots, filming on the fly or switching between high and low positions.
Comparison of stability testing data
Get perfectly smooth results
When SuperSmooth mode is activated, the RS 3 Pro increases the motor's torque to further improve stabilization, allowing for steady shots even in fast-moving situations or when using 100mm-equivalent lenses.
Professional focus
LiDAR assistant
To facilitate focusing, the LiDAR focusing technology known from the Ronin 4D is used in the RS 3 Pro. The new LiDAR Range Finder (RS) can project 43,200 aiming points at a distance of 14 meters. It also features a built-in camera with a 30mm equivalent focal length and a wide 70° field of view to meet the focus needs of most situations.
Compared with conventional focusing technology, the LiDAR focusing system does not need to rely on the surface structure of the object. This is especially useful in low-light environments or complicated situations with multiple subjects, and results in exceptionally stable focus.
It supports both Wide and Mode modes. In Wide mode, the viewfinder automatically detects the subject and focuses. In Spot mode, users can mark an object manually or click on it.
Brand new sharpening motor
DJI RS Focus Motor The new generation motor (2022) provides three times stronger torque (up to 1 N·m) and reduces noise by 50%. This brings smoother focus and reduces the impact on audio recording. It also has a quick-release structure that allows for easy assembly without any tools for faster use.
Cinematic autofocus
The combination of the LiDAR Range Finder focusing system with the new focusing motor allows, among other things, the use of cinematic autofocus on manual lenses. One press of the M button on the gimbal quickly and effortlessly switches between manual focus and autofocus.
After calibrating manual lenses, several lens calibration profiles can be stored in the focus motor, so there is no need to recalibrate them before the next use. Some film lenses can even be connected directly to the focus motor for autofocus without the need for calibration. Users can also connect the LiDAR Range Finder and focus motor directly to the camera and operate them independently of the gimbal, enabling autofocus on manual lenses and with an external battery.
ActiveTrack Pro
Object tracking with the Ronin series has never been more accurate and responsive.
ActiveTrack For New Generations can directly read images from the camera built into the LiDAR Range Finder without the need for the Ronin Image Transmitter (formerly known as the Ronin RavenEye Image Transmitter). In addition, the LiDAR Range Finder features a self-developed chip identical to that of the Ronin 4D, which increases the processing power of ActiveTrack Pro by more than 60 times compared to ActiveTrack 3.0 on the Ronin Image Transmitter.
Using ActiveTrack Pro, you can directly track or mark the object on the RS 3 Pro's OLED touch screen. Live streaming latency is reduced to just 40ms, 60% less than the Ronin Image Transmitter, allowing for snappy tracking even when the subject is moving quickly. Thanks to the neural network accelerator, it can identify and track targets, even if they are many and far away.
Professional video transmission and quick assembly
The RS 3 Pro can be paired with the all-new DJI Transmission to offer a solution tailored to a specific shoot. The DJI Video Transmitter can be powered directly from the RS 3 Pro and can be conveniently mounted on the bottom with an adapter, without the need for an additional battery, reducing the burden on your hands.
Long range wireless transmission
The O3 Pro Video Transmission enables up to 6km range [8] of ultra-low latency video and audio transmission, as well as automatic frequency hopping between 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz and DFS bands, providing impressively stable and undisturbed remote monitoring.
Coordinated filming
The DJI High-Bright Remote Monitor supports live streaming in 1080p/60fps resolution, but also one transmitter with multiple receivers. In Control mode, two receivers can be used simultaneously for joint control of the RS 3 Pro gimbal, focus and camera parameters for comprehensive reception, monitoring and control.
Professional wireless control
Gimbal control and focus [9]
High-Bright Remote Monitor High-Bright Remote Monitor can be used with Ronin 4D Hand Grips, DJI Master Wheels or DJI Force Pro for gimbal control and precise focusing. It also features a built-in gyro sensor that can turn the remote monitor into a standalone motion controller for the RS 3 Pro without additional accessories to achieve more complex camera movements from a moving vehicle or on a crane.
Seamless wireless camera control
When the RS 3 Pro is mounted on a carrier such as a crane, cable cam or vehicle suction mount, the Mirror Control mode allows seamless wireless control from anywhere on the scene. This mode allows direct control of the basic menu of Sony mirrorless cameras [5] via the remote monitor, all without having to disconnect the camera.
Professional ecosystem and extensive extensibility
With two RSA/NATO ports and a battery port, the RS 3 Pro can be connected to a variety of accessories, such as the Twist Grip Dual Handle, Tethered Control Handle and the new DJI Briefcase Handle, to flexibly meet different shooting requirements.
