Intelligent stabilization and precise object tracking

The gimbal features the RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking Module [1], which allows you to select and track a specific subject – a person, vehicle or pet – directly on the touchscreen. The next-generation ActiveTrack feature keeps your subject in the center of the frame up to 10 meters away and can automatically re-detect it even after it briefly disappears from the scene. This makes the DJI RS 5 Combo an ideal tool for solo creators and professional productions.

Higher motor performance and 5th generation algorithm

The DJI RS 5 Combo is equipped with motors with 50% more torque than the previous generation. Combined with the 5th generation stabilization algorithm, it delivers exceptionally smooth footage when walking, running, and fast camera movements. The stabilizer maintains accuracy even during vertical shooting and demanding cinematic scenes.

Compact design and load capacity up to 3 kg

Weighing just 1.46 kg (including handle and quick-release plates), the DJI RS 5 Combo offers a payload of up to 3 kg, making it easy to carry professional mirrorless cameras and prime lenses. ^[4] Support for native 3rd generation vertical shooting allows for quick camera orientation changes without additional accessories—ideal for social media content.

Wide compatibility and expandability

DJI RS 5 supports Bluetooth triggering not only for Sony, Canon, and Nikon cameras, but also recently for select Panasonic and Fujifilm models ^[7], allowing for wireless control of the shutter, zoom, and Clear Image Zoom without cables. The RSA communication port and open RS SDK allow for the connection of additional accessories and the development of custom solutions.

Expanded creativity in a Combo pack

The DJI RS 5 Combo includes an Electronic Briefcase Handle ^[2] that allows for convenient one-handed control of both the gimbal and camera. The joystick and control buttons make it easy to change direction, adjust focus, and create creative low or dynamic angles. The gimbal also supports DJI Focus Pro Motor and DJI SDR Transmission[5], enabling professional wireless image transmission and precise lens control.

Precise balancing and quick preparation for shooting

Rotary adjustment dials on each axis allow for quick, fine and precise balancing using a screw mechanism. Teflon™ interlayers ensure smooth operation of the arms even with heavier camera rigs. 2nd generation automatic axis locks ensure instant locking when turned off and quick unlocking when turned on – without delay or unnecessary downtime.

The new Z-axis indicator provides instant visual feedback for precise balance adjustments and professionally stable shots.

and is not recommended in situations where there are multiple people, overlapping positions, similar clothing, making significant movements, or complex clothing. Vehicle tracking is suitable for situations where there is only one vehicle with no more than 30% of its body covered, and is not suitable for fast-moving vehicles. Pet tracking is limited to one pet and is not suitable for pets that move quickly or change direction frequently. If the subject temporarily leaves the frame, the smart re-capture function within 1 second is only supported when tracking a person. Data was measured in a controlled environment. Actual experience may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
