More powerful engines and 5th generation algorithm

DJI RS 5 uses the 5th generation stabilization algorithm and motors with up to 50% more torque than the previous model. The result is a stable image even during rapid camera movements, sudden changes in direction, or when shooting vertical content. The stabilizer can easily handle professional mirrorless cameras and prime lenses.

Compact body, load capacity up to 3 kg

Weighing just 1.46 kg (including handle and quick-release plates), the DJI RS 5 offers a payload capacity of up to 3 kg, making it compatible with a wide range of cameras and lenses. ^[4] It supports native 3rd generation vertical shooting, allowing for a quick transition to vertical format without the need for additional accessories – ideal for social media.

Wide compatibility and expandability

DJI RS 5 supports Bluetooth triggering not only for Sony, Canon, and Nikon cameras, but also recently for select Panasonic and Fujifilm models ^[7], allowing for wireless control of the shutter, zoom, and Clear Image Zoom without cables. The RSA communication port and open RS SDK allow for the connection of additional accessories and the development of custom solutions.

Precise balancing and fast handling

Rotary dials on each axis allow for smooth and extremely precise balancing using a screw mechanism. Combined with Teflon™ interlayers, the arm movement is smooth even with heavier rigs. 2nd generation automatic axis locks automatically lock when powered off or in sleep mode and unlock immediately when powered on, making setup for filming much faster.

The new Z-axis indicator provides instant feedback for precise shot adjustments, helping to achieve even more stable and professional results.

Creativity without limits

The new Electronic Briefcase Handle ^[2] allows you to control both the gimbal and camera with one hand. The integrated joystick and buttons allow for creative low-angle shots and comfortable handling while on the move. DJI RS 5 also supports DJI Focus Pro Motor [5] (zoom and focus control) and DJI SDR Transmission [5] for wireless live streaming and remote control.

Battery life and fast charging

The gimbal can be fully charged in approximately 1 hour ^[3], which is up to 60% faster than the previous generation. The standard battery offers up to 14 hours of use and 15% longer standby time. With the optional DJI RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip ^[5], the battery life can be extended to up to 30 hours ^[6] with support for 45W PD fast charging.

and is not recommended in situations where there are multiple people, overlapping positions, similar clothing, making significant movements, or complex clothing. Vehicle tracking is suitable for situations where there is only one vehicle with no more than 30% of its body covered, and is not suitable for fast-moving vehicles. Pet tracking is limited to one pet and is not suitable for pets that move quickly or change direction frequently. If the subject temporarily leaves the frame, the smart re-capture function within 1 second is only supported when tracking a person. Data was measured in a controlled environment. Actual experience may vary depending on the environment, usage, and firmware version.
