Should DJI be worried? The Insta360 Antigravity is coming, the first 360° drone under 250g

The Insta360 Antigravity is a whole new kind of drone. It's not just a drone with a camera—it's a camera with wings. Co-developed by Insta360, the Antigravity is the first full-fledged 360° drone that will weigh less than 250g and can record in 8K resolution.

It combines two previously separate areas – advanced 360° camera technology (like the Insta360 X5) and an intuitive drone experience. The result is a "360 immersive flight", a fully immersive flight that you can creatively edit in post-production after landing.

Weight under 250 g = no license

Antigravity will weigh less than 250g, meaning it falls below the threshold for registration under EU and US legislation. This makes it an ideal companion for:

• beginners without a pilot's license
• creators who want to travel without paperwork
• families and aerial videography enthusiasts

Dual camera + vertical design = clear 360 view

A leaked video from @Quadro_News shows that the prototype has:

• two cameras – one above, one below – for complete 360° coverage
• two front sensors – probably for obstacle detection and safe flight
  vertical body – which probably eliminates the appearance of propellers in the video

This is key – while traditional drones can rotate the camera, they never remove the propellers from the frame. With Antigravity, that could change.

8K video – creative freedom in post-production

Similar to the Insta360 X4 or X5, it will be possible to “reframe” footage – that is, choose the angle and composition after recording. The result will be maximum flexibility for vloggers, documentarians and social networks.

Intuitive control

We don't yet know exactly how the drone will be controlled - the game involves:

• mobile application
• separate controller
• potentially also control via headset or gestures

The manufacturer is currently talking about "intuitive control systems", which indicates an effort to make control as simple as possible for everyone.

While DJI dominates the traditional camera drone segment, Antigravity is taking a different path – creating a new category focused on expressive and versatile shots without the need to “frame” the scene during flight.

• Vloggers and creators – they can fly and decide later what the final video will be.
• Families – intuitive controls and low weight mean a lower barrier to entry.
• Travelers – no registration required and with a compact design.
• Marketing and advertising - a new way of shooting in 360°, ideal for social networks or promos.

So far, the manufacturer has only revealed the brand's philosophy and vision. We don't know exactly:

• drone name (Antigravity is a brand, not a specific model)
• How to achieve a clear 360° shot without propellers
• battery type and battery life
• Control method and flight modes
