The Freewell ND16/PL filter for the Insta360 Luna Ultra is a hybrid filter that combines 4 stops of light reduction with a polarizing effect. It allows you to extend your shutter speed for natural film motion blur while reducing reflections from water, glass, and wet surfaces. The lightweight, low-profile design maintains smooth camera stabilization. The ND16 part of the filter reduces the amount of light passing through by 4 stops. It is suitable for normal to bright daytime conditions, allowing you to better control your exposure and maintain the desired shutter speed without overexposing your shot.
Limiting the amount of light allows you to use longer shutter speeds even on a sunny day. This gives moving subjects more natural motion blur and the resulting video a smoother, more cinematic look.
The integrated polarization helps to suppress glare and reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass or wet surfaces, making the filter useful for shooting landscapes, cars, bodies of water and urban scenes.
By reducing distracting reflections, the polarizing effect helps to enhance the natural colors and contrast of a scene. The sky, greenery, or water can appear clearer and more distinct right when you capture the shot.
The ND16/PL will be appreciated by creators who shoot in normal to bright daylight and need to simultaneously control exposure and suppress glare – an ideal companion for travel, outdoor activities, landscapes and urban shooting with reflective surfaces.
