The DJI Matrice 5TD is a drone designed exclusively for operation from the DJI Dock 4. It carries three 50 MP cameras, a thermal camera with a resolution of 1,280 × 1,024, a laser rangefinder with a range of 3,000 m and flies for up to 59 minutes. It detects obstacles, including thin wires, with a rotating LiDAR, three millimeter radars and six color cameras, even at night. It has a C5 and C6 class in the EU.
The letters in the name have a fixed meaning at DJI: T stands for thermal camera, D for the docking station version.
You control the drone remotely via DJI FlightHub 2 or the DJI Enterprise app.
The price of the DJI Matrice 5TD drone is €9,999 including VAT. The entire system with DJI Dock 4 (€19,999) and O4 Ground Station (€2,242) costs €32,240 including VAT, excluding batteries. Matrice 5TD batteries are sold separately. For operation with replacement, you need 2 to 4 pieces and we will add their price. The cameras shoot 4K video at 30 fps and take photos at a resolution of up to 8,192 × 6,144. The telephoto lens has a 16x digital and 176x hybrid zoom, and according to DJI, it can detect details from 400 m and damage to power lines from 100 m. Night mode with ISO up to 1,638,400 gives a color image at night without a reflector, NIR illumination black and white night vision. All three lenses have defog.

The native resolution is twice as high in both directions as the Matrix 4TD (640 × 512). This means you can capture the same detail from a greater distance when performing thermal imaging inspections of photovoltaics and substations. The rangefinder measures vertically up to 3,000 m and diagonally up to 1,200 m, the dead zone is 1 m. The error is up to 0.3 m at a distance of 12–100 m and up to 1 m at 100–3,000 m. The target coordinates (PinPoint) are displayed directly in the live image.

If the wind increases beyond the limit during the return, the drone will descend to a lower altitude and continue to the station. It has a multi-colored warning light on the bottom that can be used for patrols.

All three can be installed at the same time. The AS2D speaker's text-to-speech does not yet support Slovak, you can play the announcement in Slovak as a recording or live.
The DJI AP1 parachute opens automatically in 600 ms in the event of a failure and slows the descent below 6 m/s from a height of 35 m. You can also launch it manually via the independent flight termination system (FTS) in FlightHub 2. Geocaging keeps the drone in a set area. DJI lists Slovakia among the countries where both FTS and geocaging work. The parachute is disposable, checked every 6 months and changed 3 years after activation.
